25 November 2008 - 15:49Soap, Thanksgiving, Advent, and Confirmation Classes
Greetings to the Holy Innocent Ones!
Thank you for your continuing support and outreach.
1. This week’s pantry “feature” is dish soap or laundry soap. Our pantry clients appreciate being able to clean their dishes and clothes.
2. The Thanksgiving Day Mass will be at 9 am (there is no Wednesday evening Mass this week). Bring some food for those in need and an item for your own meal for a blessing at Mass.
3. This Sunday is the first Sunday in Advent and we will have Advent Candles for sale for your home Advent wreath and they will be blessed at the masses.
4. We will be starting our Adult Confirmation classes on Wednesday, December 3, at 7 pm. The classes will be the first three Wednesdays in December and the first three Wednesdays in January. We will celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation on the last Sunday of January with the Bishop. For many adults, Confirmation completes the full initiation into the Catholic Church. It is required if you are going to be a baptism or confirmation sponsor and strongly recommended if you are going to be married in the Church. Please contact the office by email or phone if you wish to receive this Sacrament.

6 November 2008 - 21:36Cookies with Ross
I always recall the Mass fondly where Ross would illustrate the joy of giving by handing our Oreos to the children. He was, he said, inordinately fond of Oreos, but his doctors had prohibited him from eating them himself. It was a lovely lesson. The children’s faces show so much goodness and promise. People should enjoy Mass more. Far too often we endure it, rather than celebrate it.
There are any number of stories that the members of this community tell of one another. If you have a special memory you would like to share, please request an account if you don’t have one and post it on the blog. There’s a new blog category called ‘Parish Stories & Memories’ to organize these entries.

2 November 2008 - 15:55Holyinn.org Federalist Papers
I’ve just posted, with permission and names of the parties involved removed, a brilliant email from Henry describing the debate between two different visions of holyinn.org’s future. Read it and let us know what your thoughts are. We’ll post responses with permission…
