Greetings, the sun is shining!

1.  Annual Catholic Appeal: Thank you to all who have responded to this year’s Annual Catholic Appeal which supports over sixty programs in our Archdiocese including helping kids go to CYO summer camp, Catholic Community Services, our retired sisters and priests, seminarians and deacon candidates:  to mention a few.

We are half-way to our participation goal (and every response counts whether or not you can make a financial pledge) and about 70% of our financial goal of $52,000.  Every amount given over goal will be returned to the parish.  Last year, over-goal amounts went toward finishing the kitchen.  This year we want to work on finishing the hall by putting in the ceiling.

We will be sending reminder letters to anyone we haven’t heard from yet, so please turn in your pledge envelope this Sunday or go on-line:  https://www.seattlearchdiocese.org/Stewardship/ACA/Donate.aspx

2.  Pantry items needed:  canned fruit, tuna, salad dressings.

3.  Safe Environment:  We will be having two Safe Environment classes here at Holy Innocents on Sunday, May 20.

The first class offered is Called to Protect for Ministries and is designed to teach participants how to recognize the signs of abuse, how to respond to suspected abuse, and how to keep our ministries, programs and schools safe.  Recommended for all volunteers who have contact with children or vulnerable adults.  The class starts at 3 pm. Please register on line at:  http://seattle.setanet.org/classes.php

The second training offered  at 6 pm on the 20th is Called to Protect for Parents and Families.  This is designed for parents, families, and all interested adults in learning how to protect children and teach them to keep themselves safe.  You can register with Jennie at jennie@holyinn.org or go on line: http://seattle.setanet.org/classes.php
