How do I use Wordpress?
Holyinn.org uses Wordpress as it’s publishing system. Wordpress is a pretty simple system but it does have a short learning curve if you’re new to using Internet tools. Primarily, you have to understand the difference between a page and a blog post, how to write a new page or post, and finally, how to change an existing page and a post. Then, learn how to add pictures and other files to pages and posts and you’re pretty much done.
I’ve found a bunch of great tutorial videos at http://wordpresstraining.com/training-index/ That’s the place to start. We have another installation of Wordpress you can get access to for practicing in a ’sandbox.’ Send an email to the office for an account and instructions.
How to post something on the home page?
Write a blog post and set its category to ‘Headline.’
How to post a bulletin?
Write a blog post with the title as the date and ‘Bulletin’ like the rest of them. Upload the new bulletin PDF as ‘media’ and ‘insert into post.’ Set the category to Bulletin and you’re done!
How do I change my password?
1) Log in at the top of the home page with the account name and password sent to you :
- Click here to login
2) Then click your name at the top of the page:
- Click your name here.
3) Finally, enter your new password here and click ‘Update Profile’:
- Set the new password
