 Councils, Commissions and Committees

The Holy Innocents community offers many different ways to participate in parish activities and projects. Those members of the parish who have an interest in these activities are encouraged to participate in these groups. On each groups’ web page, you will find a description of the activities, current meeting schedule and other information about the group.

Pastoral Council

The Pastoral Council reviews and discusses many different aspects of church life. The council’s main function is to offer guidance and direction to the community. Members raise issues and questions for discussion, on which the pastoral associate acts. The council can also make recommendations to the Archidocese from the church community. Current Pastoral Council members are:  Ana Foukimoana, , Sabrina Parnell and Tim Hopfauf.  We are currently looking for new members.

If you are interested in joining the Pastoral Council, if you have an issue that you would like to present, or if you would like to have more information about the Pastoral Council, contact Gail Dimock, pastoral associate

Finance Council

The finance council meets as needed to review and discuss financial reports and decisions presented by the staff of the mission office. Current Finance Council members are: Shirley Endres, Cheryl De Prez, Joe Vandehey, and Regina Seiler.

If you are a member of the parish and wish to join or volunteer services to the finance council, please contact the office.

Historical Committee

Holy Innocents is a growing community having more than doubled in the past four years. We are blessed with many talented members, lots of young people, and a warm and welcoming community.

The Historical Committee meets occasionally to collect and preserve the history of the parish and the people who make it. If you are interested in participating in these activities, contact the office for more information.

Liturgy Commission

The Catholic Encyclopedia defines Liturgy, in part, as:

The Liturgy Commission at Holy Innocents meets regularly to explore, examine and discuss the Liturgy. The members of the commission feel that a greater understanding of the performance of the Liturgy and the meanings behind it are central to their practice of the Christian faith.

If you are interested in joining the commission, or offering volunteer services, please contact Gail Dimock, pastoral associate.

St. Vincent de Paul

Our local St. Vincent de Paul members seek to reach out to those in need in our community. They meet with the poor and serve them with care and financial assistance as they are able. Their financial resources come from the generous support of parishioners through quarterly and seasonal donations. If you are interested in joining our St. Vincent de Paul, or offering volunteer services, please contact Gail Dimock, pastoral associate.

Food Pantry

Holy Innocents has a weekly Food Pantry open on Wednesdays in the morning and afternoon. Volunteers are scheduled on Tuesday afternoon to set up the pantry, sort the produce, stock the shelves. On Wednesday the volunteers check in the clients and help pack the groceries. We also offer clothing and small household items as they are donated. Food for the pantry comes from parishioners, community members, and local grocery stores through a “gleaning” program. We also have a limited gas voucher program.

Lazarus Day Center Sandwich Making

Once a month, on the 19th of each month, volunteers gather to make sandwiches for the Lazarus Day Center in Seattle. Holy Innocents provides the ingredients to make more than 200 sandwiches each month. On the following day, the 20th of each month, volunteers take turns driving the sandwiches into Seattle.
