Holy Innocents 2019-2024 Pastoral Plan
The purpose of this plan is as a guide that builds upon the already strong existing ministries in order to support our pastor and parish leadership in establishing priorities and areas of growth for Holy Innocents over the next 5 years.
Communication
- Find new ways to highlight and celebrate accomplishments; ministries; social activities both internally to the parish and externally to the wider community.
- Expand Pastoral care outreach ministry by raising awareness of the pastoral care already available to parishioners and non-parishioners and inviting more volunteers to share their time in these ministries.
- Keep up with the latest electronic methods to communicate and reach people.
- Communicate more effectively to parishioners the financial needs of the parish and foster an understanding and appreciation of the importance of financial stewardship at Holy Innocents.
Evangelization
- Reestablish the Welcoming Committee to develop new ways to welcome and integrate new members into the parish.
- Provide training for parishioners to learn how to engage and invite people into parish life.
- Develop new ways of calling parishioners to use their time and talents to build up the parish.
Faith Formation
- Provide more adult faith formation opportunities to help parishioners grow in their faith.
- Continue to develop opportunities for inter-generational faith formation
- Recruit and train more catechists for our faith formation programs.
- Implement successfully the new lowered confirmation age in a way that lead to greater engagement in the parish.
- Find ways to connect; invite and engage youth in the ministries of the parish.
- Orient youth ministry to provide a solid faith formation so that they are well grounded in the faith as they move beyond high school.
